Arab eyes are anticipating the events of the World Cup in Qatar, especially the performance of the Moroccan team, which is amazing the masses with its good performance.
After each victory, we see the flag of Palestine next to the Moroccan flag, and we see the Moroccan fans carrying Palestinian flags in all matches and singing for Palestine in the streets of the Qatari capital, Doha. On Saturday evening, the Moroccan team defeated the Portuguese team in a historic event, as commentators described it to be the first Arabic team to qualify to the
semifinals in FIFA history.

The Arab public everywhere rejoiced in this victory in the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity, but the joy in Palestine was different. The Palestinians rallied in Gaza and the West Bank, carrying Moroccan flags, to show their gratitude of solidarity spirit of the Moroccan fans, who proved their loyal to the Palestinian cause.

The Palestinians went out in Al-Quds streets and celebrated at Al-Amoud Gate – one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque – the mosque that misses its Arab and Muslim visitors. They carried Moroccan flags and cheered for the Moroccan national team as if it was their national team and set off firecrackers in joy.

In the besieged Gaza, the streets were filled with celebrants, who set off firecrackers and distributed sweets. Despite its pain, blockade and deprivation, Gaza celebrated the Moroccan victory
while awaiting a small light of hope and joy to cool their souls amid this siege and destruction in an attempt to rise from the series of attacks by the Zionists.

Distressing the Joy

In Al-Quds, the joy did not last long, as the usurping entity, with all hatred, attacked the celebrating young men and dispersed the crowds, fired tear gas canisters, and even assaulted some young men inside a cafe, as the camera footage showed.
This hatred of Palestinian joy extended to the neighborhoods of the Jerusalemite towns, which suffocated with the smoke of bombs fired by the usurping entity police in the town of Silwan.
Despite this hateful treatment and unjustified transgression, the Jerusalemites continued to celebrate and chant in support of Morocco, and the towns next to the apartheid wall celebrated under
this wall to confirm their joy despite their separation from their brothers in the stolen homeland and despite the daily injustice the Palestinians are subjected to it daily.
